Podcast Paradise with Tim and Andrew!

My great friend Andrew Rafner has been working on various sports and talk podcasts for the past few years, and he's starting to really hit his stride with the new season of The Podcast Paradise. The first episode has NBA legend Ron Artest as a special guest, it's pretty magical. And they're using "Excuse Me Miss" off the Pool Party EP as their new theme song, which got me really psyched. So listen to the show, it's about a half hour every Monday Wednesday and Friday.

The very moment I laid my ears upon the dulcet tones of Nobody Wave, I began sniffing the air to determine exactly what it was about their music that was so very familiar. There’s always something really comforting about musical nostalgia when it is presented in a manner utterly new to me at the same time, which is probably why their (free!) Trance Vacation EP is my newest Repeat staple on iTunes. After a bit of solid deliberation I determined that their sound was that of the strange lo-fi lovechild of Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold and the older stuff of Voxtrot, all tumbled a bit in the surf and sun and then reincarnated into younger and less-skilled instrumentalists. So uh, let’s just roll with that for the time being and enjoy the last month of summer with these slightly more progressive surf rockers by our side to help us towards the fall.
